Hi, I’m Monica!

I’m an UX designer based in San Francisco, California. I strive for inclusion, individual and community growth, and the creation of joy. By first listening to others, I’m able to understand their challenges and frustrations. When we understand them we can begin to create inclusive and joyful products that foster growth.
Let’s connect on LinkedIn or you can email at monica@monicaslee.com to talk about how we can work together. You can download my résumé as well.

How I got here
Before I shifted the course of my career to work as a UX designer, I was a graphic designer focused on editorial design. As a graphic designer and art director, I dreamed up visuals that supported written words and effectively communicated meanings and emotions. My experience of working at monthly publications has prepared me to thrive in deadline-driven environments and wear many hats to get the project out the door. With several years of graphic design experience under my belt, I longed to delve deeper. I wanted to create richer experiences that were rooted in solid research and aimed to solve complex problems. Now, I bring together a refined sense of typography, dynamic color play, and a keen sense of layout with user-centered research methods to create designs that work intuitively and feel engaging.
